In 1969, Iasi Airport is upgraded as part of a national program for the rehabilitation of several strategic objectives. A concrete runway is built with a total length of 1800m with modern lighting and a passenger terminal. With new technical equipment Iasi Airport resumed commercial competition while the national company, currently Tarom, operates daily destinations like Timisoara Arad Bucuresti Cluj.
