A few original places to visit in Romania

The wait is over: spring is finally here, with its optimism and new hopes and with new interesting plans for the vacation. So for today, we were thinking we could talk about a few original places to visit in Romania.

Considered by many a truly interesting spot, Campina displays a special magnetism. The city has also been marked by a few local celebrities, among whom we can count Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu, who built the Iulia Hasdeu Castle in loving memory of his daughter who died at 18 of TB. After the death of his beloved daughter, Hasdeu tried to get in touch with her through spiritism sessions, so this castle – now a museum – has certain particularities which trigger our interest.

The Sinaia Train Station is one of the oldest and most beautiful in the country. It also hosts an interesting museum, dedicated to trains. Inside, you can admire an ample collection of little trains, clocks, telephones and old locomotives, patrimony of the CFR (Romanian Railways).

The Church under the lake is not a myth, although it certainly acts accordingly, only appearing during periods of drought, when the water lowers and the ruins of an old stone church become visible. You can find this wonder in Belis, in Cluj county.

Called the Endless Lake or the Eagles’ Lake, this water located in Mount Siriu rests at the heart of a wild and idyllic area. One of the local legends talks about eagles teaching their little ones to fly above the waters of the lake. The second legend says a shepherd threw its bat in lake only to find it one year later in the Danube. This event brought him back home, by the shores of the lake. And this is what the visitors will also want to do, again and again.

If you wish to visit one of the innovative places Romania has to show, you can book an airport transfer online.
