Would you believe it? It’s July already! So summer is at its peak and July, despite being the hottest month of the year, the most popular among travelers. We all want to get away from the office, students have finished taking their exams and are now preparing for the vacation, so we are also setting out in search of information on the best Summer 2015 Festivals in Romania for the coming weekends and vacations.
The youngsters have been preparing since last year for the festival that has topped their list for 23 years: The Medieval Festival of Sighisoara. This year, the festival was scheduled for July 23rd to 26th. Organized by the municipality and the Tourist Association Sighisoara, the theme of the event this year is “Minstrels and Mariachi – five centuries of medieval music and theater”.
Popular artists, rock and pop bands of the moment, international theatre companies and surprise guests are awaited in Sighisoara at the end of July. We also look forward to the event!
But the Medieval Festival of Sighisoara is not the only one of its kind in Romania. In Sibiu, between August 28th and 30th, you are invited to the “Transylvanian Citadels Festival”. In the town center, artists and guests will come dressed in medieval attire and will welcome you with music and glee.
As for music, between July 30th and August 2nd, you are invited in Cluj Napoca for the “Untold” International Music Festival. Highly advertised, the festival has attracted a lot of interest, so the city is practically “fully booked” for the dates. (One can hardly find a spare hotel room). Avicii, David Guetta, Armin van Buuren and Boney M are just a few of the names that will be present at “Untold”. Come join the fun too!
