Mustang 2014 in Romania

The launching of the sixth generation of the American Mustang on the European market will mark the transition to a new showroom concept for Ford, leaning towards a more classy, premium image.

Zoltan Brassai – Ford Romania general manager – said the Ford Store concept will be introduced in Romania as well, with an area specifically designated for premium models and all. These showrooms will only be available in locations where the dealership allows it.

The new Mustang 2014 will bring the new generation on the European market at the same time the concept is launched on the American one – which hasn’t happened in the past 50 years. Although the car will only start being marketed in Europe in 2015, orders can be recorded already.

The campaign has presented the sixth Mustang generation in several metropolises around the world: Barcelona, Shanghai, Sydney and in America. The model is oing to be marketed first in the United States and in Canada, towards the end of 2014; starting with 2015, the coupe and cabrio versions will be introduced on the Chinese and European markets. Although the Mustang will be produced in the USA – as has been the case will all previous models – but will be fitted with European engines.

During its 50 years of history, Ford has sold over9 million Mustangs worldwide since the original model was launched in 1964.

The greatest novelty of the model is its EcoBoost 2.3 liters engine in 4 cylinders, supercharged, on petrol, capable of developing 309 CP. The Mustang could come no other way than with a “classic” American V8 5.0 liters engine.

The sixth Mustang generation will be exclusively produced in the Flat Rock factory in Michigan. The company estimates that only 10% of the production will be sold on foreign markets.
