Aurel Vlaicu International Airport, formerly known as Baneasa Airport is a major airport in Bucharest.
Inaugurated in 1920, is located 7 km north on DN1, 90 m altitude, on an area of 128 ha. It has a 3,000 m long and 60 m wide runway. Before the establishment of Otopeni International Airport in 1970, it was the main airport in the capital of Romania.
