Bacau County has many things to show, all in a special natural (and vastly underrated) environment.

Bacau Lake is the first stop today. Also called Serbanesti Lake, it is a barrier lake located inside the city of Bacau. 2300 m long and 800 m wide, it is a natural monument and one of the main tourist attractions in town.

On Trotus Valley, 15 km outside Onesti, it is worth visiting Targu Ocna salt mine. Modern and accessible, this salt mine provides tennis, basketball and football courts, relaxation and recovery areas in a pleasant environment. It can be an excellent weekend outing with your family or friends.

In Dofteana, Darmanesti and Slanic-Moldova you can find the Nemira Natural Reservation, a protected site, monument of nature and home to countless species of rare plants, animals and birds.

The Ciners in Nutasca – Ruseni are a protected area of great geological interest. Ciners are hard ash coming from volcanic eruptions produced ages ago. It is surely a rare and interesting tourist attraction.

Do you like flowers? How about a walk amongst them? The Botanical Garden in Prajesti can offer you this. Stretching over a terrain of 2 hectares, you will find more than 2000 species of trees and plants, from lilies and lilac to magnolias and cypress.

And if paleontology is something you are interested in, it is worth visiting the Carligata fossil point in Margineni.
