In Buzau County, there is a unique tourist attraction: the Mud Volcanoes.

The uod volcanoes were created through a process of accumulation of natural gas at a depth of over 3000 m.The has has to go through a clay soil and through the groundwater. In its movement, it pushes both to the surface, creating a cold mud that surfaces under the form of cones that look like dry volcanoes.

Tourist Attractions – Dragons Garden

Our country shelters a great deal of virtually unknown tourist attractions, among which we can count the Dragons Garden in Salaj county.

The Dragons Garden is a natural reservation located 10 km away from the city Jibou, where a spectacular natural phenomenon around the Mountain Meses.

The Garden is constituted of an irregular ensemble of bizarrely shaped rocks – towers, pins, mushrooms, etc. – arranged at the bottom of the Dumbrava hill. Some of them have hights reaching to 10-12 metres and were formed through multiple natural processes, as well as the morphological composition of the hill.

2014: The Last “Rabla Program” Year

It appears that 2014 is going to be the last year the program “Rabla” (The Jalopy), program supporting the renewal of the car fleet, will be organized. The Automobile Producers and Importers Association – APIA – says starting with 2015, the Ministry of Finance should rethink the annual contribution to calculate it according to the norm of pollution and emissions.

According to the chairman of APIA – Ernest Popovici – his organization will support the development of the Rabla program for 2014, but wishes this to be the last year it is held. He added he would like the program to start in the middle of February to take effect, not in June, as it did last year. He ended his official declaration stating that APIA does not expect great changes in the first cassation or in the volume of tickets.

The Rabla program was launched in 2005, and ever since that year, 460.000 jalopys have been destroyed and 216.000 new cars have been sold.

Tourist Attractions – The Blue Lake

Despite its name, what is representative of the Blue Lake is not necessarily its colour, but by the fact that it switches shade with the light and the people swimming here.

The Blue Lake is found 3 km away from Baia Sprie and was formed through the falling of a mine gallery which was, in time, flooded with rainwater. The total surface of the lake is half a hectare and has an almost circular contour, the lake being situated on the slope of a hill, in the south-western area.
