Between May 21st and June 1st, locals and not only are invited to join in the fun at the event Ploiesti Days 2015, which will bring 12 days of fun and entertainment.
For an industrial city, Ploiesti does have something specific, a truly poetic air – maybe being famed for being the city that saw the birth of literary geniuses like the playwright Ion Luca Caragiale and the poet Nichita Stanescu is not for no reason. Nevertheless, the “black gold” industry is what brought wealth and fame to the city, so oil is celebrated in town at the Oil Museum.
But the city of Ploiesti is more than oil and poetry (in equal amounts). It is also a universitary city and an important cultural center. Its closeness to the capital city as well as the cultural events organized here make the locals pretty active and open to concerts, vernissages and more.
Ploiesti Days has become a popular and anticipated event and this year, the Municipality has organized a festival that will delight the public with countless artistic, sports and cultural surprises. Among them, we can count a series of concerts, outdoors film displays, book fairs, as well as basketball and football matches between the high schools in town and several expositions.
On May 21st, the event will be opened by a concert featuring Pasarea Rock, Ovidiu Lipan Tandarica and the artists from the Paul Constantinescu Philharmonic House in Ploiesti. Artists like Horia Brenciu, Nico, the tenor Cezar Ouatu and Laurian Manta have also confirmed their participation.
And since no such event is possible without foreign guests, Ploiesti twin cities from Moldova, Bulgaria, Hungary and Greece have also been invited to share their culture and customes.
In Ploiesti, you can book with Car Rental Ploiesti to enjoy both the event and the freedom afforded by having a vehicle at your service.
