Although there is still plenty of time to wait until the 1st of May, the day the seaside season is officially opened, planning is instrumental, so today we are going to talk about the Eforie Nord Resort.
Most of us probably know little about the history of the place and about the past of the Black Sea seaside in general.
Eforie Nord was founded in 1899, along with the construction of the Movila Hotel. The first balneario resort in the area was thus created – Movila – Techirghiol was its name. It took 20 years for the resort to develop, while new villas owned by the empowered personalities of the time started to be built around the hotel. Along the decades, the resort changed its name often: it was called Carmen Silva, Vasile Roaita and then simply Eforie.
Today, Eforie Nord has a reputation for combining recreational tourism with spa tourism, due to the curative properties of the Techirghiol Lake. The spa is open all year round, treating rheumatism, ailments of the peripheral Nervous System, circulatory or skin problems among many others.
The resort has a large beach and a very popular seafront that reaches 30 metres, with a beach 3-4 kilometres long and up to 200 metres wide.
The ideal promenade place of the resort is found north of the beach, where the coast is very narrow and surrounded by a very high seafront, which must be visited by all tourists. From the seafront, you may reach the beach by descending the stairs. In the southern region, the beach is wider and access is direct.
The sand in Eforie Nord is less fine than in Mamaia or in Constanta, and the water is ever calm, with sunbeds and umbrellas on display.
