A visit to Pitesti

A visit to Pitesti

It’s summer, so we can travel more now that the sun is brightly shining. When was the last time you went on a visit to Pitesti? We think it’s been a long time already, so we have planned to review the most important tourist attractions in town and its surroundings.

Recently, we talked about the most beautiful zoos in the country; we must also put the Pitesti Zoo on that list. Located in Trivale Park, it is considered the fourth zoo in Romania in terms of investment and facilities. From Siberian tigers to birds and Tibetan bears, you can admire over 130 animals belonging to almost 40 species.

One of the most important places in Muntenia is Lake Lanariei, found in Campia Pitestilor belonging to the Arges bay.

The “Alexandru Davila” Theatre is one of the most emblematic tourist objectives in town. If you are in for a cultural evening, you can always stop by.

A prominent tourist objective in Arges county is the Negru Voda Citadel, close to Campulung. With origins dating back to the 5th century B.C., in the times of the Dacians, the citadel is an antique place of worship turned into an Orthodox monastery.

Near the Negru Voda Citadel, you can also visit the homonymous cave and Pestera Mosului, beautiful natural attractions where you can enjoy the cool and quiet of the carstic landscape.

Curtea de Arges, near Pitesti, is one of the main tourist attractions in Arges county. The Monastery and the Church are important sites that remind us of the glorious medieval past, when Curtea de Arges used to be the first capital city of Wallachia.

Pitesti and its surroundings are worth our entire attention and consideration. Probably the easiest way to admire everything Arges has got to offer is to book with Pitesti car hire and have a car available for your trip.
