Summer is not nearly over, so the question “Where are we headed now” is still absolutely legitimate. In August, you are invited to Arad Days 2015!
Transylvania is the self-proclaimed “best of the best”, so people in Arad want to show their town is actually the coolest in the Arad Days Festival scheduled to take place between the 17th and the 30th of August 2015.
Like every year, courtesy of the Cultural Center and the Arad Municipality, the festival offers a couple of weeks of fun and energy. The events features in Arad Days vary from artistic and cultural manifestations, sports and activities for children and adults.
Arad will compete for the title of European Capital City of Culture in 2021, so this year’s festival is a “preview” of all that is in store in Arad in the event that the town will win the title.
Here are a few of the most important events scheduled for the Days of Arad 2015:
After a series of workshops and cultural exhibitions, on August 17th, the Festival will be officially opened at 21:30 with a fiery show.
During the next days, the festival will continue with workshops, foto exhibitions and cultural exchanges.
The students from Sabin Dragoi High School will give a concert on August 20th from 8 PM and Friday, August 21st, you can attend the opening of the Summer Fair, admire a maps and stamps collection or attend several folklore shows in town. From 9:30 PM, at Neptun Swimming Pool, you can watch the movie “Black Sea” and then attend the pool party to make a fun transition to the next day.
A day before the end, on August 29th, you are invited to a concert where Delia, What’s Up, Adda, Alex Velea and other guests will perform and on Sunday, August 30th, you can try your luck at the running race in Eminescu Park.
