After we have discussed the novelties on the local oil market, let’s turn a bit to cars with a new top: Best seller cars in Romania in 2014.
In 2014, Romania has manifested a particular interest to the auto market, which was clearly reflected in the car sales registred along the last months. In the top best seller cars, the first positions are held by Dacia, Skoda and Volkswagen. Together, they have gathered a market share of 50.6% in the last 9 months. As was to be expected, Dacia remains leader of the local market, with its models, Logan, Sandero and Duster being in the top low-cost cars in Romania and abroad.
Skoda, who occupies the second place, has outrun Volkswagen, who presently occupies the third place and who came out second last year. Ford (4th place) has registered the largest increase (71% more than last year, with over 4300 registered cars).
As a whole, until now, almost 52.000 cars have been registered in Romania in 2014. There has been an increase of 26% from last year. For the first time since 2011, the registrations number has reached 50.000 segments.
When it comes to the premium market, for over a decade Audi, BMW and Mercedez-Benz have owned supremacy. Last year, the three brands have registered a total of 11% of the local car market. This year, BMW has lost its position in the top 10 best seller cars, but Mercedes remains on the penultimate place, with 1700 units.
Returning to our top, the best seller cars in Romania in 2014, the 5th to 10th positions are the following: Renault, Opel, Hyundai, Toyota, Mercedes and Fiat.
