The weekend is quickly approaching, so we are already planning, especially since the weather forecast announces relatively warm weather. This Saturday has been long anticipated by those who love culture and not only; because we have a date for the event Museums at Night, May 16th 2015!
Museums at Night is an international initiative which encourages visiting museums in the largest European cities for free, by anyone, for just one night a year. In our country, this event is organized with the support of the National Museums Network in Romania.
In Bucharest, you will find the most interesting and diverse museums in the entire country. The musuems here are going to open their gates to welcome visitors from the country and abroad. Here is, in short, the museum circuit in the capital city:
The Village Museum (Muzeul Satului) can be visited between 15:00 and 18:30. The second day, May 17th, is the day the museum celebrates 79 years of existence, so the public will be invited to enjoy traditional folklore programs of dance and music.
Do you like dinosaurs? Then it is worth visiting the Grigore Antipa Museum between 18:00 and 01:00. Digi Animal World has prepared surprises to the visitors, there will be workshops and contests for people of all ages.
The National History Museum of Romania, a key cultural objective in the country, will also be open between 16:00 and 02:00.
Between 17:00 and 23:00, you can learn everything about pilots and planes at the National Romanian Aviation Museum.
There is another… “museum” to speak of, though it might be a bit bizarre to visit it at night… Bellu Cemetery also opens its gates for the living to take a walk among the dead between 19:00 and 01:00. Of course, as long as you are not afraid of phantoms!
You can call on Bucharest rent a car to cross the entire museum circuit in the capital city. Of course, other museums will participate in the Museums at Night project: Ploiesti, Iasi, Cluj-Napoca and others.
