The Targu Mures Zoo, stretching over a surface of 40 hectares, boasts with the status of biggest and most modern in the country. It respects all European norms and its residents from the animal kingdom lead a happy (although captive) life here.

The Zoo here is harbored by the Cornesti Forest, situated “above” the town. It is easily accessible – particularly if you have a car (if you don’t, you can rent a car in Targu Mures) – and beautifully built, with a large parking lot, running tracks, specially designated places for sports and recreation and a little train that goes on tour of the garden. Among the animals, you can find an elephant, cats, crocodiles, snakes, kangaroos, monkeys and exotic birds.

Bucharest is in no way inferior: in Baneasa, the Zoo will soon be incorporated in the Bio Park, benefiting from restoration according to European standards. Until then, we can visit it in its actual form; there are countless species to admire here and we can’t wait to see the final result around 2020.
