Bucharest is not the friendliest city in Romania and it certainly isn’t the most beautiful. But one thing is true: it is a metropolis where lots of things happen and it does have a few places to show. Maybe the most beautiful museum here – and certainly an extremely interesting museum in Romania – is the Archeology Museum Grigore Antipa. Here, you can see millenary fosiles, but also collections that highlight the biodiversity. The museum often hosts expositions, book releases and other social events.

The Clock Museum in Ploiesti is a unique museum in our country and hosts music bozes, clocks, watches and various time-measuring devices. The museum was opened in 1963 by the history teacher Nicolae Simache. The oldest exhibit dates back to 1562, a medieval clock with astronomical quadrants.

The Brukenthal museum in Sibiu was founded in 1817, the first museum to open its gates in all of Eastern and Central Europe. Although the arts galleries are the most renowned section, Brukenthal is in fact a museum complex, also including the History Museum the Altemberger House, the Pharmacy Museum, the Natural History Museum and the August von Spiess Museum. It attracts 280.000 guests per year and among its notable works, there are a few paintings by the famous Titian.
